The "World Journal of Case Reports" (WJCR) welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, and medical professionals from around the world. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, please carefully read and follow these author guidelines.

Manuscript Preparation


General Formatting

  • Language: All submissions must be in English.
  • File Format: Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Font: Use a standard font such as Times New Roman, size 12.
  • Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including references and figure legends.
  • Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Number all pages consecutively.

Manuscript Structure

  • Title Page: Should include the title of the manuscript, names and affiliations of all authors, corresponding author’s contact information, and a short running title.
  • Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript, not exceeding 250 words. Structured abstracts (Background, Case Presentation, Conclusions) are preferred for case reports.
  • Keywords: Include 4-6 keywords that best describe the content of the manuscript.
  • Introduction: Briefly introduce the topic and state the objectives of the report.
  • Case Presentation: Provide a detailed account of the case, including patient history, clinical findings, diagnostic workup, treatment, and outcome.
  • Discussion: Discuss the significance of the case, its implications for clinical practice, and review relevant literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and their importance.
  • Acknowledgements: Mention any contributions from individuals who are not authors and any sources of funding.
  • References: List all references in Vancouver style, numbered consecutively in the order they are cited in the text.
  • Figures and Tables: Include relevant figures and tables, each with a descriptive legend. Figures should be high resolution.

Submission Process

  • Email Submission: Submit your manuscript via email to contact@wjcasereports.com. Please attach your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) and include a cover letter addressing the editor.
  • Cover Letter: In your cover letter, briefly describe the significance of the manuscript and state that the content has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Ethical Considerations: Ensure that the study complies with ethical standards and that informed consent has been obtained from patients where applicable. Include an ethical statement in the manuscript.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Include a conflict of interest statement in the manuscript.

Peer Review Process

  1. Initial Screening: The editorial team will conduct an initial review to ensure the manuscript meets the journal’s guidelines and standards.
  2. Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent for double-blind peer review by experts in the field.
  3. Revision: Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be asked to revise their manuscript. Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the specified timeframe.
  4. Final Decision: The Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations.

Publication Ethics

Authors must adhere to ethical guidelines, including those related to plagiarism and conflicts of interest. Cases of suspected misconduct will be investigated.
