The "World Journal of Case Reports" (WJCR) is an open-access journal that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles. To cover the costs of publishing, including peer review, editing, typesetting, long-term archiving, and journal management, WJCR applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for each accepted article.

Why is there an APC?

Publishing an article in an open-access journal involves various costs, which are typically covered by the APC. These costs include:

  • Peer Review Management: Coordination and management of the peer review process to ensure rigorous and fair evaluation of each submission.
  • Editorial Services: Professional editing to ensure clarity, coherence, and adherence to the journal's style guide.
  • Production: Formatting and typesetting the article to produce the final version, including figures, tables, and references.
  • Hosting and Archiving: Maintaining the digital infrastructure to host articles on the journal’s website and ensuring long-term preservation in repositories.
  • Promotion and Dissemination: Marketing efforts to increase the visibility and reach of the articles, including indexing in databases and search engines.

APC Structure

The APC for publishing in WJCR is structured to be competitive and reflects the costs associated with high-quality academic publishing.

  • Standard APC: 5090 INR / 320 USD per accepted article
  • Special Issue APC: 5090 INR / 320 USD per accepted article in special issues

Withdrawal Policy

If you wish to withdraw your manuscript after submission, you must notify the editorial office as soon as possible at [contact email]. The following conditions apply:

  • Before Peer Review: If the manuscript is withdrawn before the peer review process has begun, no APC will be charged.
  • During Peer Review: If the manuscript is withdrawn during the peer review process, a handling fee of $100 will be charged to cover the administrative costs incurred.
  • After Acceptance: If the manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before publication, the full APC will be charged due to the editorial and production work already completed.

Refund Policy

As the APC covers the administrative and editorial work done from submission to acceptance, it is generally non-refundable. However, in cases where an error on our part prevents publication, a full or partial refund may be considered.
